An Irish photographer at the wedding I worked at yesterday asked me what my heritage was. I told him Filipino, and apparently he was very familiar with the culture since he has lot of close Filipino friends. First he mentioned how welcoming our culture can be, and how we can throw crazy awesome family parties. He then asked me, ‘Do you know what the best thing that Filipinos can do?’. Unsure if I would take offense to anything he said, I was still curious and asked him, ‘What?’. He then genuinely said, ‘Filipinos…make the MOST beautiful babies. And not only do they make good looking full, 100% blood kids, but when they combine it with any other ethnicity… Sheesh. Gorgeous’.

So thank you Mr. Irish photographer, for your sincere thoughts. Probably not the best thing we can do, but damn proud of our beautiful culture.
